Gurdwara Shri Nankana Sahib (Birthplace of Guru Nanak Dev Ji)

Shri Nankana Sahib is the Birthplace of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Firstly it was called Rai Bhoe di Talwandi, because it was founded by Rai Bhoe. His great grandson named Rai Bhular Bhatti renamed it as Nankana Sahib after the name of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Nankana Sahib now is in Pakistan’s Punjab Province. Nankana Sahib is a district as well. From Lahore the distance to Nankana Sahib is around 90 Km.

Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji was born in 15th April 1469. A Gurdwara was constructed in the year 1819 by Jassa Singh Ramgharia. This place is Highly Important to the Sikhs. A group of People from india go there during the Gurpurab (Birthday) of Shri Guru Nanak Dev  Ji, to celebrate it. Nankana Sahib has a population of around 80,000.
